32-year-old man died this morning after his Nissan ute
crashed into a small truck on SH1 near Tawa.
The crash occurred at about 9.10am.
The man, who was traveling south in the outside lane on the section of SH1 adjacent to Tawa College, appears to have changed into the left-hand lane and collided with a small truck that was almost stationary, says Detective Senior Sergeant Mike Oxnam.
The truck driver did not receive any injuries.
A police investigation is continuing.
Police cannot release the man's name until his immediate family have been notified, some of whom are currently overseas.
