PRESS RELEASE FROM IGNITE EVENTS DUNEDIN
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - THURSDAY 16 AUGUST 2007

Pack of Rats Ablaze at Fortune Theatre

The Fortune Theatre will be ablaze in September when the ‘The Rat Pack Returns Live’ performs after their South Island Tour.

Ignite Events Dunedin & the Fortune Theatre in conjunction with the Dunedin Casino have secured the explosive talents of these dynamic performers to present an action packed evening of comedy and music that made Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin & Sammy Davis Jr household names.

“The music of Frank, Dean & Sammy is as popular now as it was when they were at the height of their careers and this proved itself on our 13 venue tour around the South Island where we played to more than 1900 people”, says Douglas Kamo the shows director and one of the performers.

“The music continues to cross generations with as many younger audience members as the older generation. We are delighted to be able to present the show in our home town complete with the full production elements the Fortune Theatre can offer - this is something quite special”, he says.

New York New York, Come Fly With Me, Lady is a Tramp, Mack the Knife, Mr Bojangles, They Can’t Take That Away From Me are just a few of the over 30 songs that will be performed on the night.

“This is the complete package and not just a bunch of songs being sung”, Kamo says. “Audience members can expect a scripted, choreographed well rehearsed production with plenty of cheeky one-liners and audience interaction. We are asking the audience to dress up in their best cocktail dress or pin striped suit and get ready to party as if they were at the Sands Hotel in Las Vegas”
