Halloween Option At Nelson Cathedral

Halloween Option At Nelson Cathedral

If you are looking for a family friendly way to keep your children entertained on Wednesday, October 31 the Family Fun Night at Nelson Cathedral is the answer.

This is the fifth year the cathedral has offered this event. Priest Assistant Yvonne McLean said it provides a popular alternative to Halloween.

"Some people are not happy about the safety of sending children out 'trick or treating' and for some people there are spiritual issues," she said.

"We've been pleased with the response we've had by offering an alternative and it lines up with our vision of 'refreshing lives, transforming faith at the heart of the community'."

The Family Fun Night offers a bouncy castle, flax weaving, flower saucers, obstacle races, paper darts, pottery wheel, an exercise challenge, treasure hunt and much more. You can also make an evening meal of it with a sausage sizzle, Devonshire teas, Thai food, Mr Whippy and candy floss.

There is a fancy dress parade at 6.30pm - open to any costumes except Halloween, with photographs being taken to all children taking part.
