NZRL PROVINCIAL PREMIERSHIP (SPORTS) – Sunday September 21 at 2.00 PM
Grassroots rugby league revs up as Canterbury takes on the mighty Waikato at Rugby League Park in Christchurch.

BROKEN WINGS (SUNDAY FEATURE) – Sunday September 21 at 9.00 PM
An uplifting and optimistic tale about a family that gets caught up in a series of crises. Sensitively achieving a delicate balance between drama and comedy, this Israeli film offers a moving portrait of human characters, who gradually come to understand the strength of the family and its power to heal.

AFGHANISTAN – THE HEROIN CONNECTION (INTERNATIONAL DOCO) – Tuesday September 23 at 8.30 PM
Over eighty-five percent of the heroin consumed in Europe comes from Afghanistan, where despite the declarations of Western officials, production has exploded. Poppy crops enjoys ideal climatic conditions in Afghanistan, and are the only source of income for many small farmers. Shot under extremely perilous conditions, often with a hidden camera, this hard-hitting documentary tracks the production and distribution of heroin from the Afghan poppy fields to the veins of its users.

MANA WAHINE (NZ DOCO) – Wednesday September 24 at 8.30 PM
Maori have always been renowned for their great fighting ability, which many think of as a male preserve. This documentary challenges that assumption. Featuring interviews with June Jackson, Annette Sykes, Taini Morrison, Denese Henare and Hekia Parata, this programme looks at how mana – power and influence - has been thrust on them in their political and personal lives, and the responsibilities and tradition behind their choices and philosophies.

ANBL: NZ BREAKERS – Thursday September 25 at 8.00 PM
Maori Television continues its free-to-air coverage of the Australian National Basketball League. Tonight: a matchup between the Breakers and Melbourne, at home at the North Shore Events Centre.

HOMAI TE PAKIPAKI GRAND FINAL – Friday September 26 at 8.30 PM
There’s $10,000 on the line as our superb finalists line up to sing their hearts out for the title of HOMAI TE PAKIPAKI champion. Live from Auckland’s Beaumont Centre with this two hour special.

CAMERON’S CRUSADE – Saturday September 27 at 8.00 PM
His last fight – a victory over Kevin Montiy in Wellington in June – took him to number 15 in IBF rankings and number 8 with the WBO. Now Shane ‘Mountain Warrior’ Cameron is back to improve those stats even further as he faces off against African-American Terry Smith (36 fights, 30 wins, 5 losses and 1 draw). Maori Television screens the heavyweight fight, and some undercard draws, live and free-to-air.
