NZ CRUSTY DEMON BACK FLIPS OVER AMERICA’S CUP SAILING YACHT

Kiwi Crusty Demon, Luke Smith, stunned on lookers at the Viaduct Harbour today, when he back flipped his 125kg, 250cc dirt bike over a million dollar America’s Cup yacht, before falling almost four storeys into the water below.

The stunt officially launched the availability of tickets for the Crusty Demons 2009 Unleash Hell New Zealand Tour, which will make its way around the country in January and February 2009.

Luke, who lives in Auckland, said it felt great to be part of the launch for his country’s tour.

“This is by far the craziest stunt I have ever done. I was pretty nervous leading into it, but knew once the adrenaline kicked in I would be able to pull it off.

“This is the first time anyone has back flipped on a motorbike over a vessel before and it’s awesome to have done it in my home city. The yacht is amazing – I am so glad I got over it safe and sound!”

The over one million dollar America’s Cup yacht - NZL 41 – was provided by SailNZ. Cam Malcolm from the company said he was happy to be part of it, but admitted he was a little anxious watching on.

“The Crusty Demons are all about providing an action packed experience to its fans, which is very similar to what SailNZ offers its customers. I think it’s great an international tour of this kind is coming to New Zealand and allowing people all over the country to experience the thrill we did at the Viaduct today.”

The Unleash Hell Tour will be the biggest international entertainment tour to ever hit New Zealand. Fans at each show will get to witness the craziest trick in extreme sport, the double back flip, performed by Australia’s Cam Sinclair. The death defying trick has only ever been completed a handful of times in history, only twice outside the USA, and never before in New Zealand.

Every performance is an action packed extravaganza and will be the only chance for fans to see the world’s top riders in action. The star studded line-up includes world number one Nate Adams, X Games gold medallist Adam Jones, Mike Mason and Nixey Danielson all direct from the USA.

Luke Smith will be joined by fellow Kiwi, Levi Sherwood, who is one of the biggest upcoming talents in FMX across the globe, with both riders sure to unleash some insane riding for their home crowd.

Australia’s number one Blake ‘Bilko’ Williams will also be performing with fellow Aussies Steve Mini, Matt Schubring, Joel Balchin, Kain Saul and Cam Sinclair. There will also be mini-bike madness, the gorgeous Crusty babes, a sound and pyro show that will blow fans minds and more than a few surprises you will have to see to believe.

Tickets to the Crusty Demons Unleash Hell shows will go on sale from Monday 13 October.
