Circus Oz is Coming
Going by ticket sales the word is out that Circus Oz is not to be missed.
The Nelson City Council festival team is capping off its summer programme with the acclaimed Australian contemporary circus, and festival director Annabel Norman says there are strong sales four weeks out.
"Anyone who has seen this show is telling their friends we've even got a Christchurch family that has seen it once saying they'd travel anywhere in the South Island to see it again," she says. "The Saturday matinee is getting close to full, but I would stress that this is not just a kid's show - I have seen children, adults and elderly equally enthralled by Circus Oz."
Ms Norman says problems at the refurbished Trafalgar Centre for the Billy Connelly show have been sorted out this includes the seating plan and ventilation, and for Circus Oz drinks will be allowed in the performance area.
The Nelson shows, from March 19 - 22, are part of the Circus Oz 30th Birthday Bash tour, marking three decades of success based on innovative acts, off-beat aussie humour, pacey live music and amazing acrobatic skill - and no animals whatsoever.
Circus Oz is the final event in Summer in Nelson, presented by the Nelson City Council as a celebration for locals and an added attraction for visitors. Check out the website for details of the five shows at www.circusoz.co.nz, tickets at Everyman, 548 3083.
