Dangerous Dan
Dangerous Dan. Famed originally for his role in Bang Gang parties, then later for his music production credits on all the Bang Gang / Modular compilations, and also for his role as head of Ksubi clothing (what many have called Australia’s #1 fashion label)
He shot to fame with his fellow Bang Gang members as they single handedly sweated a whole new culture into Australian nightlife with their club night with the same name. Since then they’ve broken dance floors across Australia and the world spurring a music revolution. Their compilations, put out yearly by Modular, consistently shock and redefine the music scene. Bang Gang’s 2008 release ‘D is for Disco E is for Dancing,’ is on the tip of everyone’s tongue and widely acclaimed as the best compilation of its genre.
You can also attribute Dangerous Dan for much of Modular’s impeccable chic. He’s head and co-founder of ‘Ksubi.’ The fashion label that hit headlines worldwide with stunts like opening a show with 250 rats running down the runway and throwing models off a three-story cruiser into the middle of the Sydney Harbour.
DANGEROUS DAN.
By TIGA.
Dangerous Dan is the original party rocker.
Not the first man to rock a party, but THE original party rocker.
(and he is still younger than me!) One quarter of the bang gang deejays (aussie dj super troupe) One half of ksubi (my favourite label) brother of beni (riot in belgium) And friend of mine Dangerous is great, he loves to party.
He loves to DJ and he DJ’s good too! Sometimes better than ME! The best bit about Dangerous DJing is that girls dance. Girls girls girls, dancing all over the place.
Whether he is slamming techno at festivals or jamming old school disco at little late night clubs, girls are dancing, people are dancing! He also made one of my favourite records of last year (dangerous dan and nicky vanshe - around the world again) I played it in Paris and the place went fucking crazy, one guy smashed a chair over his own face, somebody else lit his hair on fire, everyone was screaming “THIS IS THE BEST RECORD EVER”……… I had to turn the whole system off just to calm people down. It also happens to be the only record i have on the wall in my studio….. It makes me wish i loved guitars.
TIGA So his credentials over a phonecall and off the top of his head are.
Spun wax with….. Me, daft punk, soulwax, scissor sisters, mylo, stuart price, erol, james murphy, boyz noize, justice, medhi, and even roger sanchez!!! Played at most festivals in the world as the bang gang, half the clubs in the world on his own.
He is my ultimate recommendation to rock a party.
Dan is my man.
My moon my man.
