Award for Excellence in Engineering Journalism

Entries Close next week for the $5000 IPENZ Award for Excellence in Engineering Journalism

In 2005, The New Zealand Engineering Excellence Awards Board of Management established the Award for Excellence in Engineering Journalism to acknowledge the contributions the New Zealand media has made to the public’s understanding of the engineering industry.

The Award for Excellence in Engineering Journalism (sponsored by the IPENZ Foundation) is awarded to the journalist who has most improved the public’s understanding of the engineering industry’s role and contributions to society through fair and accurate writing. The Award is open to print, radio and television journalists.

Winners will be flown to Wellington in November to attend the Excellence in Engineering Awards Ceremony, hosted by Linda Clark, and receive a $5000 cash prize and certificate.

Previous winners include Simon Collins of the New Zealand Herald and John Gerritsen of the New Zealand Education Review.
