Fly Buys’ fun fundraisers find favour with Kiwis
With only one sleep till New Zealand’s first telethon in 15 years, Fly Buys has been overwhelmed by Kiwis’ support for the Big Night In.
“It’s not even the big night yet, and already Fly Buys Members have made almost 3,000 donations and ordered a whopping 23,000 limited edition Fly Buys Star Cards. The buzz is building, and we’ve seen a surge of activity in the last few days. If this is the response one day out – we’re really excited to see how it accelerates this weekend!” says Andy Symons, CEO of Loyalty New Zealand, which manages the Fly Buys programme.
Fly Buys is supporting KidsCan StandTall through the Big Night In Telethon 09, which airs this weekend on TV3. Fly Buys has several simple ways for people to get involved – they can order a free, celebrity-designed Star Card, use Fly Buys Points to redeem shoes, raincoats and food packs for KidsCan, and bid on the Fly Buys Mountain of Rewards, as part of the Sella Big Auction.
“The reality that thousands of Kiwi kids are growing up in poverty is something that many New Zealanders are not aware of. We saw the Big Night In as a fantastic opportunity to help kids in our own backyard, and make it fun and easy for Kiwis to get on board. All our Members can make a positive difference, and with donations continuing for a couple of months, people still have plenty of time to collect Fly Buys points and redeem for KidsCan.
“The Mountain of Rewards auction is proving very popular, currently sitting in the top ten listings. The pile of goodies, courtesy of Fly Buys Partners, includes luxury manchester, electronics, spa packages, accommodation and home furnishings – there’s something for everyone, and with a retail value of over $11,000 someone is set to bag a bargain, and all in support of a good cause.
“The limited-edition Star Cards, designed by TV3’s Sunrise team, are also being snapped up. The celebs have been campaigning all month, urging viewers to order their card – and I’m pretty sure the rivalry is not just about supporting this worthy cause, but also because the losers face a daunting dare as part of telethon this weekend!
“Fly Buys staff are on board too – head office enjoyed a crazy Big Day In fundraiser a week ago, which included loads of old-school telethon dares and raised more than $4,000 for KidsCan. If that fun is a taste of the Big Night In, New Zealanders are in for a highly entertaining weekend!
“Fly Buys offers people the chance
to dream a little, so we’re thrilled to be supporting
KidsCan, which helps disadvantaged kids get the most out of
their education, and reach their dreams.”
