Fans To Shoot This Year’s All Blacks Poster

Fans To Shoot This Year’s All Blacks Poster
Fans and new 3D technology to create this year’s adidas All Blacks poster

Adidas is celebrating its 10th anniversary All Blacks sponsorship by providing fans an opportunity to take photos of the team and create this year’s official digital 3D All Blacks poster.

“We’re always looking at ways to enhance fan interaction, says David Huggett, Country Manager adidas NZ Ltd. “This season hundreds of fans who attend local test matches will have an opportunity to have their pictures make up the adidas All Blacks poster.

“Plus, fans that purchase the 2009 All Blacks jersey will go into the draw to be one of two members of the public who will have the chance to take photos of the All Blacks during the anthem, with the media contingent at local test matches.”

“This isn’t however, your standard photographic competition, explains David.

“The competition winners will be tasked with taking a multitude of photos from many angles of the All Blacks during the national anthem on the field at every New Zealand test. Using cutting edge technology—a system call Photosynth—the photos will then be stitched together to create one large interactive 3D viewing experience, which can be shared with anyone on the Internet.”

“So far, hundreds of fans who attended All Blacks test matches at Christchurch and Auckland were handed cameras and asked to take a photo of the team from their seat to help make up the final image. We’ve had great success with this so far with hundreds of cameras returned from keen fans who want their picture to be part of the poster.”

This is yet another example of the many campaigns to help make the All Blacks more accessible to fans and, as Huggett says, “It is all thanks to the tight and successful relationship between adidas and the All Blacks. A relationship we have enjoyed for the past ten years and one we are looking forward to continuing for at least another ten years.”
