St Jerome's Laneway Festival

St Jerome's Laneway Festival

A How To Guide:

Presented by 95bFM, C4 and Real Groove
Monday, February 1st 2010. Britomart Square, Auckland, New Zealand.

February 1st (pinch and a punch)  is looking like it’s going to be a little cloudy, which couldn't be more perfect! At this stage a high of 23 is predicted ... but we all know what Auckland weather is like, so check in at http://www.metservice.co.nz/towns-cities/auckland later in the week for an update and please don’t forget sun block.

We've got a whole lot of FAQ's for you here, but here's a summary of things you might be wondering:

There is only one way in! Enter the festival on Galway, just off Commerce Street, Downtown. At the gate, your ticket will be swapped for a wristband. Don’t take it off!     If you are over 18 and wish to enter the bar area please show your ID at entry and you’ll get a wristband for the bar.

Please don’t bring your car to Auckland Laneway Festival, there isn’t any parking  at the festival site and it's a mission parking around Lower Queen Street on a good day! The festival rests above Auckland City’s public transportation hub.  As you exit the Britomart train station you will find yourself mere footsteps away from the Laneway entrance.

Please bring dosh. Sort out your money before you arrive, as there are no ATM facilities at the venue, you can purchase bar tickets with eftpos and also get cash out. We think the sensible thing to do is to bring cash to the festival.

There will be free sunscreen available from the Info tent, First Aid and the TAC Vanes van next to the markets Remember to be sun-safe and wear a hat (you can buy one at the merch tent if you don't have one). We have built extra shade structures for the day, but please assume it is going to be a hot and sunny festival...

Speaking of merch, you can purchase festival all sorts of memorabilia, what better way to remember the very first NZ Laneway! All of which will be available from the merch tent in the middle of the festival, just opposite the entry. In addition to our festival merch, your favorite bands have supplied us with a wide array of gear to sell on their behalf so don't forget to stop by and pick something up. Eftpos facilities will be available here.

If you get the munchies, there will be food stalls set up throughout the festival (including vegetarian options) to satisfy your dietary needs. Also bottled water will be for sale at a very reasonable price, so you can stay hydrated! Please drink plenty of water throughout the day.

Please keep the site looking beautiful and respect the land we've borrowed, be a tidy kiwi! Put rubbish in the bins, cans in the recycling cages and cigarette butts into bins too.

There will be a bag search on entry. No booze, glass, pets, illegal stuff or professional camera gear. Anything confiscated will not be returned. Unopened bottles of water are allowed on site, please note that seals must not be broken.

Finally don't forget your Ticket and Photo I.D (18 plus card, driver's licence or passport). Everyone will receive a wrist band on entry, if your ID shows you are over 18 the wrist band will allow you to enter the bar area.

Finally, finally – we can’t wait to see you there- lets all do our darndest to make sure Laneway returns in 2011!

See you there!
