Young Auckland Chinese make Bruce Lee proud

Auckland, New Zealand. (15 April 2010) - A fresh and lively platform that enables young Chinese professionals in Auckland to enjoy a mix of networking and learning opportunities called Future Dragonz launched at St Paul St Gallery in Auckland last night.

Ushered in by a rumbustious lion dance, the strong crowd of 400 guests celebrated at the launch event, Enter the Dragonz, in the company of celebrity comedians, leading community and business minds and young professionals. The event title paid homage to Chinese martial arts legend Bruce Lee whose most revered movie was Enter the Dragon. Cleo Bachelor of the Year 2009 and radio producer Chang Hung led the MC duties for the evening as he introduced guest speakers, real estate entrepreneur Don Ha and Skykiwi PR Manager Ariel Zhang, to the audience who mingled against the backdrop of contemporary art on display as part of the 4th Auckland Triennial.

An initiative of the New Zealand Chinese Association Auckland, Future Dragonz (www.futuredragonz.org.nz) aims to deliver a series of quality events that enables members to make connections outside of their existing networks, exposing them to new people, bright ideas and opportunities that will help them grow socially, personally and professionally.

“We want to create an environment for young Chinese from early settler, recent migrant and international student communities to network and learn from each other. This network is a first for New Zealand and another example of the passion that the New Zealand Chinese Association Auckland displays to lead New Zealand Chinese into the future,” said Raymond Kwok, Chief Architect of Future Dragonz.

Future Dragonz will hold regular evening events throughout 2010 at partner venues and leading contemporary spaces in Auckland.

Key partners are 2degrees, Skykiwi, wagamama, Unlimited and 3A.
