Comic Stands Up For The Court

MEDIA RELEASE – For Immediate Release

Comic Stands Up For The Court

Rhys Darby began his career in Christchurch, and the international comic is giving back to his home town with a special fundraiser performance at the Isaac Theatre Royal on December 5th.

Darby has rearranged his busy touring schedule to bring his popular stand-up show IT’S RHYS DARBY NIGHT! to Christchurch for one night only, donating all proceeds from the performance to The Court Theatre.

“It quickly became clear that Rhys is so popular that we couldn’t possibly fit everyone wanting a ticket into Court One for one night,” says The Court Theatre Chief Executive Philip Aldridge. “Fortunately the Isaac Theatre Royal very generously offered to host the performance – it’s wonderful to have their support.”

IT'S RHYS DARBY NIGHT! is a mix of stories from Hollywood delivered in Darby's trademark animated style and also introduces some of his latest characters. Park Ranger Bill Napier, UFOlogist Steve Whittle and Whale Watcher Ron Taylor.
A limited amount of pre-sale tickets are available from The Court Theatre (963 0870 or target="_blank">www.courttheatre.org.nz) at on Friday October 15. General bookings are available from October 18th. Tickets are $40 and $45.
