Santaline now open and taking wish lists
More than 70,000 hopeful children (and adults!) have already called Telecom’s Santaline on 0800 222 222 to ensure their wish lists are received by the North Pole in time for the big day. The nationwide toll free line, direct to Santa, has been running red hot since it opened on 27 November.
Santa says each year he, Mrs Claus, and the elves look forward to seeing what gift is most requested.
“Last year the most popular request was gaming
equipment for boys and mobile phones for girls. We’re
keen to hear what Kiwi boys and girls will be looking for
under their Christmas trees this year,” says
Santa.
Those travelling to Auckland or Wellington during
December should also include a visit to the Telecom Trees in
the itinerary. Located at the base of the Trees are
dedicated Santaline phone boxes with a direct connection
to the North Pole.
The Auckland Telecom Tree is in
Western Park, Ponsonby and the Wellington Tree is in
Waitangi Park on the waterfront. Each Tree is 27 metres
high (about
seven storeys) and is constructed from
375,000 lights to give 16 million possible colour
combinations.
And Christchurch doesn't miss out. To
accompany the Christmas Tree being put up in Cathedral
Square dedicated Telecom Santaline phone boxes will be
installed and live from 8 December.
More than 950,000 Kiwi kids called Santaline last year. However, you can also submit your wish list online at santaline.co.nz.
