Dora The Explorer Live! Forced To Cancel Christchurch

MEDIA RELEASE TUESDAY 1 MARCH, 2011

Nick Jr.’S Dora The Explorer Live! Forced To Cancel Christchurch Performances Due To Earthquake Damage

Due the devastating effect of the Christchurch earthquake last week, the performances of Nick Jr.’s Dora the Explorer LIVE! Search for the City of Lost Toys scheduled for the Isaac Theatre Royal, Christchurch this Saturday 5 March and Sunday 6 March 2011 have been cancelled.

Ticket holders will receive a refund. All other New Zealand performances of Nick Jr.’s DORA LIVE! will continue as advertised.

FROM ISAAC THEATRE ROYAL:

Thank you to all our friends, clients and patrons from around the world for your many kind thoughts over the last few days since the earthquake of 22nd February. To all Christchurch residents who have suffered extreme loss we offer our deepest sympathies. I can report that all Isaac Theatre Royal staff and technicians managed to escape uninjured.

The theatre however has suffered some visible exterior and interior damage that will likely keep our doors closed until mid to end of May at this early stage of assessment. With CBD cordons expected to be in place for many weeks to come and the city off limits to the general public for possibly several months, until an official structural survey and assessment is able to be completed and the full extent of damage is known this is the best estimate I can give at present.

As a result unfortunately all events scheduled at Isaac Theatre Royal until 30th April cannot proceed. Further updates will be issued once more details are made available to us. Thank you for your patience and respect in these incredibly difficult and uncertain times.
