A $25,000 Try Fest From The Crusaders

MEDIA RELEASE

A $25,000 Try Fest From The Crusaders

The Crusaders have delivered a try fest in the first game of the cash-for-try incentive which was issued by Tui last week.

Tui, long term sponsor of rugby in the Canterbury region, issued a cash-for-try incentive to the Crusaders for the rest of their Super Rugby round robin games. Each try is now worth $5,000, with all proceeds going to help revive Canterbury’s earthquake stricken rugby community.

First game of the try incentive was a stunning showcase of Super Rugby at Twickenham today. With just over 35,000 people packing into England’s home of rugby to watch the Crusaders crush the Sharks with a display of deft touches and offloads resulting in a 44 – 28 triumph. This is not only a win for the team but a win for the Canterbury rugby community as the team scored five tries, notching up $25,000 for the region.

Tui marketing manager Jarrod Bear says he’s impressed with the team’s response to the try incentive, “The Tui cash-for-try incentive which we issued to the Crusaders last week seems to have really inspired the team to perform for the community. The Crusaders backs seemed to be on a try scoring mission this morning, dotting down five times and racking up $25,000 in one game.”
