Aces have offered Brad Cachopa final contract for the season

MEDIA RELEASE
Tuesday, 9 August 2011

The Auckland Aces have offered Brad Cachopa the twelfth and final domestic contract for the coming season.

Cachopa debuted for the Aces this season in both the HRV Cup and the Plunket Shield where he was the third highest run scorer for Auckland and led to him being named Auckland Cricket Young Player of the Year.

Coach Paul Strang commented that Cachopa brings a useful versatility to the side.

"Brad showed last season that he's able to fill a number of positions for us which is a very useful asset and he obviously provides us with another wicket-keeping option. He also displayed a real maturity in the way he constructed an innings that I think bodes well for him and for the Aces."

Cachopa has until Sunday 14 August to accept the contract. If he does so the twelve players contracted to Auckland for the 2011/12 season will be:

Michael Bates (Suburbs New Lynn)
Brad Cachopa (Takapuna)
Andrew De Boorder (Howick Pakuranga)
Colin De Grandhomme (Howick Pakuranga)
Gareth Hopkins (Parnell)
Anaru Kitchen (Waitakere City)
Bruce Martin (Parnell)
Tim McIntosh (Parnell)
Colin Munro (Howick Pakuranga)
Jeet Raval (Suburbs New Lynn)
Bhupinder Singh (Papatoetoe)
Daryl Tuffey (Suburbs New Lynn)
