Joining us will be an assortment of Dunedin’s finest local musicians and bands. is a website-come-record label that aims to support and encourage the growth of the Dunedin music scene. As a website we provide an outlet, which enables local musicians to communicate with each other, promote their music and upcoming gigs through the use of our forums, news postings, interviews, gig guide and online store. We also generate worldwide exposure for these musicians. is a record label and digital aggregator that represents such acts as The Chills, The Verlaines, Delgirl and Manthyng.
To celebrate this occasion will be hosting two events throughout the 3rd of September. These concerts are as much to celebrate the diverse and talented sound of local musicians as it is to celebrate our 6th birthday. In light of this we are inviting some 23 acts, including upcoming high school bands, to play and celebrate with us. This will be a true celebration of Dunedin’s burgeoning contemporary music scene.
The first of these is an All Ages gig at Refuel kicking off at 2pm and featuring established local acts alongside new and upcoming acts some of whom have been recently been performing in the Chicks Project. Following this all age’s gig will be an R18 show starting at 7pm and carrying the party through till late. is proud to be hosting this party and wishes nothing more than to have you come down, enjoy this momentous celebration of Dunedin music, and party with us. Howard Davis: Dennis Villeneuve’s Dune - A Brief History

So many elements of Herbert’s novel have since become tropes of popular SciFi that Villeneuve’s film sometimes seems deceptively derivative. What makes all this nonsense essential viewing is his astonishing visual sensibility. More>>

Howard Davis: Jill Trevelyan's Rita Angus

Although Angus has become one of Aotearoa’s best-loved painters, the story of her life remained little known and poorly understood before Jill Trevelyan's acclaimed and revelatory biography, which has been republished by Te Papa press. More>>
