Starfish Reveal New Collection To Rave Reviews

Last night Starfish showcased their celestial Lunatopia Autumn/Winter 2012 collection at New Zealand Fashion Week to rave reviews.

The theme of rock and roll revolutionaries and shooting stars were combined for an astronomical runway show that proved to reach for the stars and was praised judging from the audiences beaming reaction.

Today we’re bringing the runway to the street, for real women, with real women, with the Starfi sh Summer Good Fortune 2011/12 Collection and what better place to do that than Broadway, Newmarket. A rich mix of textures, relaxed fi ts and fluid fabrics soften traditional eastern silhouettes in Starfish’s Good Fortune Collection.

Makeup by The Body Shop Makeup team will feature the Lunatopia look, as seen on the Fashion Week runway last night, created for Starfish by The Body Shop Makeup Director Louise Mills. “The look is dark and moody with blacks and gunmetal covering the eyes with a shot of copper added to create the illusion of depth while Extra Virgin Minerals ™ Foundation gives the skin a velvety smooth fi nish” said Mills.

The Body Shop Fashion Week makeup team will be instore at The Body Shop Newmarket between 1-2pm recreating the Lunatopia runway look for real women, with an exclusive gift with purchase offer during this time only! Plus discount vouchers from The Body Shop and Starfi sh *conditions apply. Dame Anita Roddick, founder of The Body Shop is the business inspiration to Laurie Foon, Starfi sh designer and director.

Now, some years after Anita fi rst penned her signature in Laurie’s copy of Body & Soul, The Body Shop and Starfi sh have collided again to form a Partnership in Action – Ethical Fashion and Beauty. Starfi sh are a well respected local Pioneer of stylish sustainably made clothing and The Body Shop, the original ethical cosmetics company, seeking out wonderful natural ingredients from all four corners of the globe through their Community Fair Trade Program.

This is the perfect partnership when it comes down to ethics. Barrie Thomas Director of The Body Shop New Zealand, says “Laurie reminds me of Anita in some ways. Visionary, extraordinarily creative and isn’t afraid to do the opposite of what everyone else is doing, if it means doing it the right way”.

We’re so privileged to be working with Starfi sh, a ground breaking fashion house with values that parallel The Body Shop. A perfect partnership for women who want to make ethical choices, without compromising on the way they look. Laurie Foon recalls how The Body Shop’s approach towards being a socially and environmentally responsible business profoundly infl uenced her as a young woman. She says “Having been so inspired by Dame Anita Roddick all those years ago I’m still in complete awe that today Starfi sh and The Body Shop are working together to build a strong partnership – it’s is something I’m extremely proud of. It is also really befi tting then that The Body Shop will be providing our make-up look at NZFW 2011 and that together we can show- you can still have great style, while making ethical choices”.

Starfish and The Body Shop are now a Partnership in Action, working together on events, spoiling each others customers, with a united ethical philosophy.
