Chris Cox (England) in ‘Fatal Distraction’

Voted ‘Best Comedy Show in the UK’ in 2011 by Venue Magazine.

Don’t look away or he may just read your mind!

This remarkable entertainer sold out his season at the NZ International Comedy Festival in 2010, so we have invited him back in 2012 with a brand new show, ‘Fatal Distraction’, opening Sat 28 April at the new venue, Q – 305 Queen St, followed by a week at Wellington’s Whitireia Performance Centre.

Chris Cox is a mind reader who can’t read minds, not only that, but according to The Guardian, he is ‘one of the most exciting entertainers in Britain’. Time Out thinks ‘he does tricks that would make Jesus proud… Loveable, geeky & deceptively talented.’ They’re not alone - The Times thinks he’s ‘stunning’ and ‘leaves other magicians scratching their heads.’ Chris agrees with all these things, but also likes to think he’s far too modest to make them the first things people read about him.

He is a unique force when it comes to mind-reading entertainment. Chris already has a string of accolades under his belt, including 5 Edinburgh Fringe shows, 4 UK Tours, 3 West End Shows, an extended sell out run at the 2010 New Zealand International Comedy Festival, a bloody big heap of 4 and 5 star reviews, 2 Edinburgh Fringe Awards, a huge list of sell-out shows, a 2011 Best Comedy Show award win, must-see show listings and numerous TV and Radio appearances. All that and he’s still in his early 20s. What a busy boy!

The self proclaimed ‘mind reader who can’t read minds’ is an accomplished and much-loved performer, using a mongrel hybrid mix of witty chit-chat, magic, psychology, body language, influencing, devilish good looks… and lying, to make you think he knows what you’re thinking, despite never knowing what you are thinking, or being able to really do anything he says. All this helps him to produce a highly-entertaining and very funny cutting edge show that’ll make you say the wow word.

Believe it or not! See him at the 2012 NZ International Comedy Festival and all won’t be revealed. Read more on www.magiccox.com
