Dead Cat Bounce (Ireland)

It’s business time for Ireland’s answer to ‘The Flight of the Conchords’ - ready to rock the 2012 NZ International Comedy Festival

Their ‘Rugby’ song has over 800,000 hits on YouTube and they have been favourably compared to the ‘Flight of the Conchords’, so it seemed fairly obvious that they should join the 20th Anniversary celebrations for the NZ International Comedy with a one-week season, commencing Sat 28 April at the new festival venue, Q @ 305 Queen St.

Winners of the Sydney Comedy Festival Time Out Jury Prize in 2010 and the People’s Choice Award in 2011, DEAD CAT BOUNCE will make their NZ International Comedy Festival debut this year.

Part rock band, part international comedy sensation, part three guys who spend an uncomfortable amount of time together, Dead Cat Bounce have been touring the world relentlessly, on a very tight budget, since 2008.

In that time they have been to all the world’s major comedy festivals, including the Montreal Just for Laughs Festival, Edinburgh Festival Fringe, Kilkenny Cat Laughs, Melbourne International Comedy Festival and the Sydney Comedy Festival.

Dead Cat Bounce have played to full houses at some pretty enormous venues, like the Hammersmith Apollo in London, the St Denis in Montreal, the Palais Theatre in Melbourne and Vicar Street in Dublin. They’ve played most of the big music festivals in the UK and Ireland and have been on the telly in Ireland, the UK, Canada and Australia. They are probably the only act in the world who has supported both the English comedian Jason Manford and glam rock band The Darkness.
