Teenage Bonesaw Massacre
PRESS RELEASE: Late April 2012
New Zealand’s HUMAN
release “Teenage Bonesaw Massacre” single in early May
2012
2012 is a very important year for HUMAN, the four piece death metal act hailing from the earthquake riddled city of Christchurch, New Zealand. Not only does it mark the bands’ 20th year of creating psychotic metal in it’s home territory, but it also marks a true return to form... the lunatics are back and it’s about to get messy.
HUMAN have chosen to release a brand new single worldwide in May 2012. The track “Teenage Bonesaw Massacre” showcases the band in perfect balance - heavy, fast paced, and also lyrically amusing at the same time (the song itself is written from the perspective of a hunting party in pursuit of a group of teenage campers in the woods) and it captures HUMAN’s ‘death metal for the fun of it’ attitude perfectly. And while the group already boasts a 3- way vocal frontline, the idea of adding some guest vocalists to the song became too much of a good idea to resist.
Enter the vocal talents of Ross Sewage (from Oakland, California gore masters Impaled) and Adde Mitroulis (from Sweden’s crazy grindcore merchants Birdflesh and General Surgery). Production credits go to Nik ‘Captain Catsquid’ Coulter, who has managed to capture HUMAN’s live insanity so well in the making of the single.
Vocalist / guitarist / co-founder Scott Spatcher-Harrison explains... “When HUMAN began we didn’t have a serious bone between us. We were just metal fans that wanted to headbang and write gross, idiotic songs. More importantly though, we were all about having fun and laughing at ourselves. HUMAN isn’t a joke band at all though, far from it. Our attitude may be a bit mental but we are are 100% dedicated to making our music as great as we can. And if it gets a laugh then I’d say that’s a bonus and we’ve done what we set out to do in the first place.”
“Teenage Bonesaw Massacre” will debut on New Zealand radio airwaves via The Axe Attack from 8pm (NZST) on Sunday, May 6th 2012 (streaming live at: www.therock.net.nz). It will then receive airplay worldwide and be streaming free on the official HUMAN website at: www.human-metal.com
