Kiwi Plays Key Role In Kz1 Class Victory at Sarno

While Aucklander Daniel Bray was raising eyebrows with his heat-winning pace in the KZ2 class at the recent World Cup for KZ1 and 2 karts at Sarno in Italy, fellow Kiwi Josh Hart was helping top Dutch driver Bas Lammers claim a second World Cup KZ1 class title.

Top British driver Ben Hanley started the KZ1 Final favourite after winning his heats and the Pre-Final but lost the start to French driver Arnaud Kozlinski then a hard-won early race lead to Lammers, who won his first KZ1 World Cup in 2010, at the half-way point.

Josh Hart from Palmerston North is a former New Zealand sprint kart champion and representative who has raced successfully in his own right in Europe but this year he has been working with Lammers on the Praga team.

Part mechanic, part strategist he has proved very successful in the role, and says he couldn't wish for a better driver to work with.

"Bas is fantastic. I have never seen a driver who works so hard and wants to win so much."

With the World Cup meeting under their belt the pair now have two more meetings to go this year, one in Europe and the other - the annual SuperKarts USA SuperNationals in Las Vegas (which Daniel Bray will also be competing at) - in the United States.
