The Warratahs To Perform At Plains In The Park!!!

Canterbury’s only not-for-profit community access radio station, Plains FM 96.9, is celebrating 25 years on air in March with a free concert called Plains In The Park as part of the annual Festival of Flowers programme.

Acoustic guitarist Dr Sanchez will be joined by electrifying violinist Yoomia, followed by world/jazz band Mundi and culminating with kiwi music legends The Warratahs.

Plains FM Programme Coordinator and concert organiser, Lizzie Belcher, says, “We’re so excited to showcase these musicians for this historic one-off concert. It’s not often The Warratahs perform in Canterbury and our line-up will ensure a good time for all in a beautiful setting. ”

Plains FM staff will share station stories between acts, acknowledging the thousands of hours of voluntary contributions by local programme makers, sponsors and supporters over the last 25 years. Henna tattoos, face painting and coffee will be available on the day.

The event will be cancelled if wet. Check www.plainsfm.org.nz; Facebook/Plains FM; tune into Plains FM 96.9 or ring 3657997 for cancellation confirmation.

Plains in the Park is kindly supported by Christchurch Festival of Flowers, CCC Discretionary Response Fund, The Lion Foundation, Spectrum Sound, Transpacific and Phantom Bill Stickers.
