Sinclair and Price to co-captain Secondary Schools

Sinclair and Price to co-captain New Zealand Secondary Schools

17 May 2013: Samantha Sinclair (John Paul College / Emerging Talent Accelerant Squad) and Jamie-Lee Price (Mount Albert Grammar School / Waikato Bay of Plenty Magic) have been selected to co-captain the 2013 New Zealand Secondary Schools (NZSS) Netball Team that will represent New Zealand at the Trans-Tasman Secondary Schools Netball Tournament.

Held in Rotorua’s Energy Events Centre from the 27th - 30th May, 2013, the Trans-Tasman Secondary Schools Netball Tournament is based in New Zealand and Australia on alternate years.

Both co-captains were part of the Gold Medal winning 2012 New Zealand Secondary Schools team and Sinclair has achieved the rare feat of being part of the NZSS team for three years in a row.

NZSS Coach Marianne Delaney believes that both Sinclair and Price are aspiring young leaders on and off the court.

"Samatha has proved herself year on year in this secondary schools competition and she is a prime example of a young girl who knows what it takes to succeed as an individual and as a team," Delaney said.

"On the other hand, Jamie-Lee displays strength on court and the other players will look to her to lead by example."

The New Zealand Secondary Schools team will come together in early May for a three day camp before heading into the Trans-Tasman Secondary Schools Netball Tournament to compete against School Sport Australia, Indigenous School Sport Australia, Bukit Jalil Sport School Malaysia, Samoa, Fiji, Aotearoa Maori, Pacifika, Pacific Rim and New Zealand Area Schools.
