Over a third of married people cheat whilst on holiday!

According to new research from the UK’s leading married dating site IllicitEncounters.com, over a third (37%) of spouses stray while on holiday. Spokesperson for IllicitEncounters.com Rosie Freeman-Jones commented “Sunshine can be a real aphrodisiac for both men and women. Guys with their tops off & girls in flirty summer dresses can really get the blood pumping! We have always seen an increase in activity on the site during the summer months, as members minds are more set on having fun than being in the office ”

IllicitEncounters.com was the first married dating site in the UK established in 2003, it has around 800,000 members. Their study also relieved that 63% of the 1,500 men and 1,600 women surveyed, said they would prefer to spend a vacation with their Illicit Encounter rather than their husband or wife. Men were also more likely to take their lovers on holiday than their spouses.

Having a holiday for most couples means more time to appreciate your partner, and the chance to spend some quality time together. But this extra time with each other can in fact highlight the faults within the marriage that cannot be in fixed by just a week or two in the sun.

One member, Cheska, 36 from London said: “Despite being on a beautiful holiday, in a fantastic location I realised I still wasn't happy. The problems within my relationship, which I had put down to stress, or a symptom of the grotty British weather, where still present abroad. I realised it doesn’t matter where you are, it's who you are with. I know it's selfish, but I soon found myself straying from my husband and seeking some added romance.”

However members are warned before they sign up that: “Not everyone is suited to having an affair. They are not an alternative to working on or ending a marriage. Not all affairs have a positive effect on a marriage, some can be very damaging. Always consider other people and if you are going to have an affair, please select your partner wisely.”
