Risqué’, Riotous, Revealing.....RES-ERECTION will elevate and up-lift with this funny, unique, provocative show. It’s loaded with send-ups, piss-takes, interpretations and observations that draw on our straight and queer world.

After a five year hiatus seven core members of The Drag Kings storm the stage once more. Wellington’s beloved gender-benders of the noughties *ahem* return with audience favourites and new stage numbers that will delight in true Drag Kings style. There’s closeted protection about the contents of the show but as a tempter if bearded hard rockers, brill-creamed boy bands and voluptuous burlesque send-ups are your thing then this variety packed show will topsy, turvy & titillate and that’s just for starters!

The show amalgamates lip-synching, live singing, dance, comedy sketch and music and wraps it in a proud rainbow for your enjoyment. The Drag Kings formed in 2001 and have dazzled with previous performances at Wellington’s Downstage Theatre, San Francisco Bathhouse, Blue-note Bar, Big Kumara and Melbourne’s Midsummer Festival (to name a few).

The Drag Kings celebrate the silly and sublime and choose to perform certain stage numbers just for the sheer joy of it. In saying that, they’re also adept at conveying their queer point of view; often in hilarious ways. RES-ERECTION is good natured, clever, twisted fun; truly delivering something for anyone who is a man or a woman or thinking of becoming one.
