Trail trilogy incentive for exercising in the winter months

13 June 2014

Trail trilogy the perfect incentive for exercising in the winter months

Sport Waikato’s trail trilogy fun run/walk is a series of three events over three months, along the magnificent Hauraki rail trail. With a variety of distances and a gentle gradient, the events are perfect for people of all ages and levels of ability. The trail trilogy is a great incentive for you, your family, friends and colleagues to get out there and active this winter and beat the winter blues.

“After the success of last year’s Paeroa to Thames fun run/walk on the trail, we are excited to get more people out there and active this year at the trail trilogy events,” said Sport Waikato Hauraki district coordinator Julie Stephenson.

“Participants can choose to enter one, two or all three events, and can enter as an individual, or enter a relay team” says Stephenson.

The first event on Sunday 20 July is a 14 kilometre run/walk from Tirohia to Te Aroha. The second event on Sunday 17 August is a 21.6 kilometre run/walk from Waihi to Paeroa through the beautiful Karangahake gorge. The third and final event is a 29.3 kilometre run/walk from Paeroa to Thames. Individual options of 5 – 6.5 kilometres are available in events one and two.

For more details and to enter you or your team, contact Julie Stephenson at Sport Waikato, or visit www.sportwaikato.org.nz. Entries for event one close Sunday 13 July 2014.
