Unsurprisingly, Nic grew up in a family passionate about food and cooking. Having graduated from catering college, Nic moved to Japan to sate his adventurous palate and love of seafood. At the Park Hyatt Tokyo he developed a passion for Japanese cuisine.

After leaving Japan and working in prestigious establishments in both the UK and New Zealand, Nic returned to London to launch Roka restaurant. In less than a year, it was named best oriental restaurant at the esteemed Tio Pepe Restaurant Awards.

Shortly after returning to New Zealand in 2012, Nic brought his love of Japanese cuisine to MASU restaurant. With accolades in two of New Zealand’s premier restaurant awards – including Supreme Winner of Metro magazine’s Restaurant of the Year and a finalist in two categories of the 2014 Cuisine Good Food Awards – Nic’s one rising star you don't want to miss.

Tickets can be booked at www.iticket.co.nz/events/2014/nov/kenwood-masterclass-with-nic-watt. Each guest receives a goodie bag of premium items including a MASU bamboo sake carafe to take home.
