Neighbourly nad BP Join Forces

New Partnership with BP Fuelling
Neighbourly.Co.Nz

28 April 2015

BP and New Zealand’s first free and private neighbourhood website, Neighbourly.co.nz, have announced a partnership today supporting BP’s ongoing commitment to New Zealand’s communities.

BP joins AMI and The Warehouse in Neighbourly’s small family of corporate partnerships which helps the site with day-to-day running and ongoing development of the platform.

“Neighbourly is a great new innovation which will keep local communities engaged with each other and able to share local information. BP is represented in most communities throughout New Zealand and we’re thrilled to have this opportunity to team up with Neighbourly to help local communities connect,” says BP Communications Manager, Jonty Mills.

Neighbourly.co.nz co-founder Casey Eden says BP is a passionate supporter of community initiatives and are particularly well-known for their long standing partnership with Surf Lifesaving New Zealand.

“It’s essential that Neighbourly partners are focused on connecting with and enhancing their local communities and BP ticks both of these boxes,” he says. “As well as sponsoring Surf Lifesaving New Zealand for over 47 years, they’ve worked alongside Young Enterprise Trust to empower young Kiwis in business leadership and innovation for over 22 years. These lengthy partnerships are testament to BP’s commitment to New Zealand and New Zealanders.”

Neighbourly.co.nz fosters interaction and conversation between neighbours and community organisations by creating an easy way for them to talk and share online through free and private websites for their suburbs. Members use the site to exchange recommendations on local services, ask questions and share advice, find employment, plan events, discuss local issues and get to know one another.

Since launching in June 2014, Neighbourly has grown to a membership of over 115,000 across 1,700 suburbs with hundreds of new members joining throughout New Zealand every day.

Howard Davis: Dennis Villeneuve’s Dune - A Brief History

So many elements of Herbert’s novel have since become tropes of popular SciFi that Villeneuve’s film sometimes seems deceptively derivative. What makes all this nonsense essential viewing is his astonishing visual sensibility. More>>

Howard Davis: The French Dispatch - Wes Anderson's New Yorker Tribute

Very few contemporary American film directors can claim to have earned the title of auteur, but for sheer visual invention and cinematic joie de vivre, there is no more consistent director working in Hollywood today than Wes Anderson. More>>

Howard Davis: Jill Trevelyan's Rita Angus

Although Angus has become one of Aotearoa’s best-loved painters, the story of her life remained little known and poorly understood before Jill Trevelyan's acclaimed and revelatory biography, which won the Non Fiction Award at the Montana New Zealand Book Awards in 2009, and has now been republished by Te Papa press.
