It's a bumper week of singles on Amplifier this week, with two particularly exciting releases for very different reasons.
First, our Release of The Week is an enourmous collaboration from some of New Zealand's biggest artists. "#KiwisCureBatten - Team Ball Player Thing" is a charity single spearheaded by Cure Kids and Brooke Howard-Smith, geared towards raising funds and awareness for Batten disease. The track features the likes of Lorde, Kimbra, Brooke Fraser, Dave Dobbyn, Broods, and too many more members of the NZ music royalty to list. Check it out and help bring some more good into the world.
The other huge single out this week is actually a two-fer, and also raises money for an important cause. The much anticipated Scribe & Tiki Taane split 7" is finally available, featuring two of the biggest hits from each, "Stand Up" and "Always On My Mind". All proceeds from this 7" go towards the New Zealand Music Foundation, so you'll be helping out the industry too.
The rest of this week's singles are not to be sniffed at either, with K.One dropping "GTHA (Get The Hell Away)", the awesome Midnight Gallery releasing their new track "Lost and Found", and the mighty "The Wolf" from These Automatic Changers is also out now.
In the longer format, there are 4 re-released double albums available from Dennis Marsh, and 18-year-old singer-songwriter Max Christie releases his debut EP "Play Nicely".
We were ecstatic with the news this week of a new Fat Freddy's Drop album coming in October, and you can now pre-order "Bays" either on CD or Double LP. Plus, there's a couple of upcoming compilations available for pre-order this week too - "One Love 2016"and the OST for the upcoming movie "Born To Dance".
