Thinking of refugees on Holocaust Remembrance Day

On Holocaust Remembrance Day, Mayor Celia Wade-Brown made a strong link between awareness of the Holocaust and the refugees in Europe seventy years later.

She called on Wellingtonians and New Zealanders to welcome more refugees here and connect them with their local communities and neighbourhoods.

Mayor Wade-Brown is an Executive Mayor for Peace and Holocaust Remembrance Day is a significant day in the capital's calendar.
