Overview:
The ASB Polyfest celebrates its 42nd Anniversary from the 15-18 March 2017, at the Manukau Sports Bowl.
The festival
has grown into the largest Maori & Pacific Islands Festival
in the world, featuring traditional music, dance and speech
from Auckland secondary school students. It is a
celebration of youth performance, and an important showcase
of New Zealand’s diverse cultures.
Students compete
in traditional speech, song and dance on six stages - Cook
Islands, Maori, Niue, Samoan, Tongan, and the Diversity
stage which features cultures such as Chinese, Fijian,
Tokelau, Indian, Korean and Sri Lankan. Students perform on
these six stages with an incredible amount of pride and
passion, as well as the honour of being top school.

Another key component of the ASB Polyfest is food and craft. Each stage has a surrounding village with the food & craft stalls from the respective culture.
Last year, over 90,000 people attended the festival, with over 9000 students performing on stage in 228 groups from 64 Auckland schools.
The theme for this year’s festival is – “Nuturing Leadership through Culture”
Entry is $5, pre-schoolers are free. Limited $5 parking is available on-site.
