Summer Concert Tour Wraps Up In Whitianga

Today’s sold out Whitianga Summer Concert wrapped up this year’s Summer Concert Tour when 15,000 concert goers added to the already sold out crowds at Taupo and Queenstown, taking in the warm and sunny conditions in the beautiful Coromandel.

As concert goers settled themselves in for an awesome summer’s afternoon of music, New Zealand act White Chapel Jak got the audience warmed up in preparation for the four international acts that were to follow.

Nashville based Fairground Saints have impressed concert goers across the tour with their unique Californian style country repertoire.

With a Coromandel sea breeze, Colin Hay of Men At Work fame was next to take to stage early afternoon and wowed concert goers with his unmistakable hits , entertaining them with songs including Who Can It Be Now , Down Under and Be Good Johnny.

Next up was Alanis Morissette. Touring New Zealand for the first time in 20 years, she captured the audience mid-afternoon with hits from her No. 1 selling album, Jagged Little Pill, getting the crowd singing along to the likes of You Oughta Know, Hand In My Pocket and Ironic.

The Orchestra starring former members of Electric Light Orchestra, performing their incredible stable of ELO hits such as Mr Blue Sky, Evil Woman, Livin’ Thing, Telephone Line and Sweet Talkin’ Woman, promised to be an amazing end to the tour and were sure to bring everyone to their feet with their final song, Don’t Bring Me Down .

We’re proud to have been able to showcase this beautiful country to our international guests. We want to say a huge thank you to the 48,000 fans that came along to one of the shows. It’s a pleasure to see all the families, couples and groups of all ages having such a great time, and we look to bringing a whole new line up to our shores in 2019.”
