Sky Tower Lights For Road Safety Week

The Sky Tower will light up in yellow tonight as part of Road Safety Week, coinciding with the United Nations’ global push to make roads safer for people around the world.

The World Health Organisation reports that 1.2 million people are killed on the roads, more than a quarter of them while walking and cycling.

Here in Aotearoa, the Yellow Ribbon Road Safety Alliance is leading the charge, calling for action to reduce the number of road-related fatalities and injuries.

Each year, around 300 lives are lost on New Zealand’s roads, and Road Safety Week aims to inspire positive change and encourage safer road behaviours.
