Ford Drives Education In Manukau City And Clayton Park Primary

Clayton Park Primary School Principal Paul Wright recently received the keys to a brand new Ford Territory as part of Ford New Zealand's sponsorship of the City of Manukau Education Trust (COMET)

The use of the brand new Territory for a week was part of a prize draw that took place at the Principal For A Day event Civic Function hosted by the mayor of Manukau, Sir Barry Curtis earlier this year."

"Participants in the event included business and community leaders, and principals. They were present at the civic function to share their experiences at the end of the day," said Bernadine Vester, CEO of COMET.

"Many Principals for A Day (PFADs) learned through their school visits about the leadership requirements in schools, the ways in which schools operate today (as compared to when many of them were at school), and the challenges of education in our city."

“The Ford Motor Company is very proud to be associated with the vision that Manukau City has for Education. We wish to play our part in improving the relationship between schools and business,” said Vanessa Joynt, Human Resources Manager for Ford New Zealand.

“The more students that have the opportunity to experience the world of work while they are still at school, the less likely it is that they will drop out of the system without a vision for their own future,”

"The Ford Territory continues to be New Zealand's most popular large Sports Utility Vehicle – it is the perfect vehicle for Paul to enjoy over summer, whether he is towing a boat, heading off-road to a favourite campsite or taking his kids and their mates to a rugby game," concluded Mrs Joynt.
