Learning Media Resources Soon Available In French

Learning Media Limited (LML), New Zealand’s premier educational publisher, and Chenelière Éducation, North America’s largest French-language educational publisher, have agreed a partnership relationship giving Chenelière rights to publish a range of LML resources in French for use in Canada.

“We’re very excited that our resources will now be available to French-speaking students and teachers”, said Gillian Candler, Chief Executive of Learning Media. “Translations of our literacy materials into Spanish, Danish, Norwegian and Swedish have been very successful. And we are a major publisher in te reo Māori and the languages of the Pacific.”

“We believe that, in the fields of literacy and numeracy, New Zealand has the best educators and educational resources in the world. That’s why we are very proud to have secured the French translation rights to Learning Media’s excellent products”, said Michel de la Chenelière, the founder and Chairman of Chenelière Éducation, who was in Wellington recently to meet with LML management.

Chenelière publishes resources which are used in more than 5,000 educational institutions across Canada and distributed in French-speaking markets in Europe and North Africa. Learning Media already exports English language resources to Australia, Asia, Canada the U.K and the U.S, working through licensees and distributors in those countries.

The first French-language resources to come off the presses early this year will be Learning Media’s ‘Skyrider Shared Reading’ series. Shared Reading is an interactive group reading experience, which enables the reading process and reading strategies to be modelled to students. The ‘Skyrider’ series features large, self-contained, non-fiction posters, and associated resources for students and the teacher.
