Albany Students’ Association Hosts Tertiary Political Debate

Tomorrow the Albany Students’ Association will be hosting a political debate on the current state of the tertiary sector.

Labour’s Minister of Education Steve Maharey and National’s Education Spokesman Bill English will be tackling the many issues surrounding the tertiary sector in the Round Room of the Atrium building, Massey University, Albany, beginning at 12pm.

“Students take enormous interest in the tertiary sector and we look forward to hearing their thoughts on it,” said Josh Clark, President of the Albany Students’ Association.

“This promises to be an interesting discussion of the issues surrounding the tertiary sector from two of New Zealand’s most renowned political heavy weights.”

“We will be looking to hear the MP’s thoughts on the under-funded public tertiary sector, the declining numbers of students getting a living allowance, how to achieve quality education and ever escalating fees levels.”

“We are thrilled to get Steve and Bill up here for the debate, and looking forward to the hearing them speak. We hope this event will allow students to voice their concerns with the people in power,” Mr Clark concluded.
