Ecentre takes entrepreneurs from “Garage to Global”

Massey University ecentre takes entrepreneurs from “Garage to Global”

To reflect the entrepreneurial journey, ecentre which is located at Massey University Albany, has unveiled its new branding.

ecentre’s new logo evokes the power button icon, which implies a “switching on” attitude towards business. The tagline, “taking you from garage to global” reflects the journey of ecentre entrepreneurs who have gone on to expand into global markets. Trevor Logan, director of ecentre Alumni company Cleanflow Systems adds “ The tagline fits perfectly; we did start out in my garage and now we are a global company, exporting to over 40 countries.”

“I love the look and feel of the new brand, it is so vibrant and it reflects what the ecentre does- getting things started and accelerating growth.” says Sir Stephen Tindall.

The new brand design and website was put together by the team at central Auckland’s creative firm, The Creative Difference. Managing Director Jimi Hunt says the feel behind the logo is not only the fact that it vaguely resembles a power button but it also resembles a cycle of entrepreneurship and how ventures get cycled from the ecentre into the big wide world.

The brand unveiling was received well by stakeholders which included long term supporters such as Sir David Levene, Sir Stephen Tindall, Bob Tindall, Ralph Roberts and former North Shore City mayor George Wood, at the bi-annual stakeholders evening on the 24th of November.

The new website (www.garagetoglobal.com) aligns with ecentre’s goal to be a leading partner in assisting start up ventures. Michael Goudie, the youngest Auckland councilor was impressed by the simplicity and ease of use of the website. “It is very focused and gives people a excellent idea what they can expect from the ecentre and why they should join.”

Along with the rebranding, the ecentre will be introducing the ecentreSprint programme, a pre-cursor to the existing incubation programme, early next year. Its aim is to find market fit fast, within a 90 day intensive programme, by determining whether there is an attractive market opportunity for the idea.
