Drop Your Boss for Kiwi Kids

DNZ, SAP, Genesis Energy, The Royal New Zealand Navy, NZ Post, K Mart, Westpac, and Sanitarium are just some of the bosses from 19 high profile companies who are choosing to take a drop from the top.

On September 23rd at 11am, these bosses will be dropping from a great height. They are abseiling off the ninth floor of theWestpac Building (16 Takutai Square, Britomart) in an event called Drop Your Boss to support child and youth charity, the Foundation for Youth Development (FYD). Each boss will be released from the Westpac building and safely ‘dropped’ to the ground.

The fearless leaders include Pierre van Heerden (Sanitarium), Paul Trotman (NZ Post), Graeme Riley (SAP), Andrew Steele (Genesis Energy), Peter Alexander (DNZ), Jason Picard (K Mart), Paula Brosnahan (Chapman Tripp), Martin Wright (Bidvest), Roger Saynor (Royal NZ Navy), Craig Cotton (Independent Liquor), Simon Hunter (KPMG), Harry Burkhardt (Replas), Dione Forbes-Ryrie (Les Mills), Jim Reardon (Westpac), Adrian Larkin (Adecco), Chris Henderson (Pita Pit), Kirsty Cardy (Zomato), Dillon Boucher (NZ Breakers) and FYD’s co-founder and Kiwi adventurer Graeme Dingle.

These bosses have rallied others in their workplaces to raise funds through individual Everyday Hero donation pages in return for the opportunity to see them drop. The New Zealand public can also support by donating on the day, visiting www.fyd.org.nz or by texting DROP to 2448 to make a $3 donation.

FYD is a child and youth charity that has been improving Kiwi kid’s lives for two decades through a range programmes - Kiwi Can, Stars, Career Navigator, Project K, and MYND.

Marion Short, CEO FYD says “All FYD programmes build on young people’s talents through physical and mental challenges; developing core life skills and helping them achieve their potential in order to succeed in life.”

FYD is on track to help almost 20,000 young New Zealanders this year. The funds raised will go towards delivering life-enhancing programmes to more Kiwis kids throughout the country.

This is the first time the Drop Your Boss event has been staged in Auckland following Wellington, Marlborough, Bay of Plenty and Waikato.
