SAE And Kidslink Scholarship: 2016 Applications Open

> SAE And Kidslink Scholarship: 2016 Applications Open

The annual SAE KidsLink EMP scholarship is now open to applicants

SAE Creative Media Institute Auckland is calling for applicants to its Certificate in Electronic Music Production (EMP) scholarship.

The scholarship, valued at $2,000, is open to year 13 students (aged 16 years and over) attending a KidsLink-affiliated school to undertake the August 2016 intake of EMP.

The scholarship covers the student fee for undertaking the course.

“SAE is proud to offer this scholarship in conjunction with KidsLink. Both organisations are deeply committed to education. Making the EMP course accessible to a student of a KidsLink affiliated school reflects that commitment,” says SAE campus manager Dr Suzette Major.

The six-month EMP course covers electronic music editing, sampling, sequencing, production techniques, midi theory, arrangement, performance and DAW operation.

It teaches students the essentials of audio engineering and electronic music production, and develops the skills and creative principles needed for students to write their own professional-quality compositions.

EMP course coordinator Pritesh Panchal says that the EMP course is ideal for year 13 students considering tertiary study. “As a part time night class, this course provides students the opportunity to experience SAE without the full-time commitment.”

Successful completion of this course provides entry to SAE’s level 5 Diploma in Audio Engineering programme (without the required NCEA credits), should students wish to continue on with their audio engineering studies.
