General Manager Mental Health Appointed

General Manager Mental Health Appointed Chris Nolan

Southland District Health Board has appointed Chris Nolan to the position of General Manager Mental Health, Lexie O'Shea (Acting Chief Executive Officer - Provider Arm) announced today.

We are extremely fortunate to have someone of Chris's calibre move to Southland as he comes with very good credentials and has extensive clinical and management experience extending over the last 20 years in Mental Health," Mrs O'Shea said.

Mr Nolan has a Psychiatric nursing background, has completed complimentary management papers and intends working towards an MBA.

Mr Nolan has worked as General Manager Mental Health at Bay of Plenty Hospital for four years and is currently State Manager Mental Health Services, State of Tasmania where he has been for just over one year.

"I am really looking forward to joining the team and building on recent achievements in developing a progressive, forward looking Mental Health Service Mr Nolan said.

"Chris was selected from a shortlist of 6 high calibre candidates, and is hoping to start his new position on 10 December 2004," Mrs O'Shea said.

Mr Nolan and wife Christine are both familiar with Southland, having original hailed from the region.
