New NZ Medical Students Assn President

15 October 2006

Dear Colleagues,

It gives me great pleasure to announce that Nick Fancourt has been voted in as the 2007 New Zealand Medical Students’ Association (NZMSA) President.

Nick is top-class all rounder and has many skills that will make a successful President. He is currently a 5th year medical student at Wellington School of Medicine and is also studying a Masters and Bioethics and Health Law. He is the current Wellington Medical Students’ Association President and is on the NZMSA executive.

He has many outstanding leadership qualities, being the first New Zealand Medical student to receive a prestigious World Health Organization Internship in Geneva and was selected for the 2005 Australian Medical Students’ Leadership Development Conference in Canberra.

He has shown great initiative and hard work this year with his work in helping organise the NZMSA Medical Leadership Development Seminar and also has significantly contributed to the WMSA and the NZMSA this year.

Nick will formally take over from 2007, but will be the main media contact until I return from my medical elective on November 10.
