Resignation GM planning, funding and performance

Win Bennett, Hawke’s Bay District Health Board’s general manager planning, funding and performance, announced his resignation today.

Chief executive Chris Clarke said it was with very mixed feelings that he had accepted Mr Bennett’s resignation.

“Win came to the DHB with many years experience in healthcare both as a clinician and a manager, including six years as the GM Planning Funding at Capital and Coast, Medical Director for Pharmac and many years in General Practice in Northland.

“I want to acknowledge the quality of the team he has built around him, his relationship skills, the progress in primary healthcare he has led, and his support and championing of Maori health. His clinical and strategic insights will be sorely missed,” Mr Clarke said.

Mr Bennett leaves to take up a position with the University of Auckland’s Medical School based in Whangarei.

His resignation takes effect March 13, 2009.
