Five simple ways to protect your heart

There are five simple ways to protect your heart and reduce the incidence and severity of cardiovascular disease (CVD), the leading cause of illness and premature death in New Zealand.

“Along with a balanced diet, moderate exercise and good stress management, you need to maintain healthy plasma levels of homocysteine (an amino acid component of muscles) and healthy levels of vitamins and minerals in your body,” explains Clinicians technical consultant and registered pharmacist, Debora-Dale Young.

“Elevated levels of homocysteine can wear away the structure and lining of blood vessels leading to CVD, and people with cardiovascular disease may also be deficient in essential vitamins and minerals.”

Individuals with a family history of CVD, patients with elevated levels of plasma homocysteine, men over 40, women over 50, overweight and obese people are most at risk of developing CVD.

Clinicians’ new CardioCare is a unique, scientifically-based, triple-action formula to support the homocysteine metabolism, and beneficial nitric oxide production and help protect blood vessels from damage. What is more, CardioCare is the only cardiovascular formula in New Zealand to contain three key amino acids L-arginine, L-carnitine and L-taurine for good heart health. L-arginine is an amino acid and precursor to nitric oxide, which supports healthy blood pressure and healthy heart function.

The new formula also contains vitamins B2, B6, folic acid and b12 which research shows provide beneficial support to the homocysteine metabolism. CardioCare also contains anti-oxidants vitamin A, C and E and magnesium that help protect against hardening and thickening of the blood vessels and support healthy blood viscosity.

CardioCare is suitable to be taken with cardiovascular and anticoagulant medication.

Dietary supplements are not a replacement for a balanced diet. Always read the label and use as directed. Use with a balanced diet and exercise. Avoid using with Vitamin A derivatives (retinoids). If symptoms persist see your health professional. Do not exceed the recommended dose.

RRP $49.90 for 90 caps.
