Partnering to Make Kids’ Dreams Come True

MEDIA RELEASE APRIL 2013 Partnering to Make Kids’ Dreams Come True

In a move that’s very fitting, Toyworld and Make-A-Wish® New Zealand are joining forces to help make sick Kiwi kids’ wishes come true.

The corporate partnership, which officially launches on April 15th, starts with two Make-AWish branded products sold in Toyworld stores across New Zealand – Make-A-Wish Binoculars and Make-A-Wish Star Pens.

The cost of these products will be generously covered by Toyworld, which means that 100% of the retail price will go to Make-A-Wish, to help grant wishes for Kiwi kids living with lifethreatening medical conditions.

Annabel Lush, Fundraising & Marketing Manager at Make-A-Wish New Zealand, is thrilled with the partnership: “We’re really delighted to be partnering with Toyworld. Making wishes come true for deserving children is at the very core of what we do, and a Toyworld store is a dream come true for many kids, so the partnership is a perfect fit."

Franco Godinich, Toyworld General Manager, says he is glad to be on-board with such a like-minded organisation and deserving charity.

“The best part of our job is seeing kids’ faces light up with the joy of a new toy, and that’s what Make-A-Wish is all about – bringing magic and happiness into the lives of children who are having a rough time with a life-threatening medical condition,” he says.

“We couldn’t be happier to partner with Make-A-Wish to keep the magic of wish-granting alive!"

The first Make-A-Wish products are available at Toyworld stores from April 15th and Franco is positive that they will be very popular.

“Purchasing the new Make-A-Wish Star Pens ($2) and Make-A-Wish Binoculars ($3) will be fun for the child receiving them, and will also bring happiness to Make-A-Wish children as it will help to grant their one true wish."

As Carolyn MacDonell, CEO of Make-A-Wish, aptly puts it – “We are very much looking forward to the partnership with Toyworld. They are a great partner with many fantastic initiatives for future activations; this is our wish come true."
