Plunket and Public Trust partner for the next three years

Kiwi icons partner to protect and nurture New Zealand's future

Public Trust has committed to becoming a ‘Pick Me Help Plunket’ partner for the next three years. This means the two organisations are now allies, intent on growing a sustainable, long term relationship designed to support New Zealand families and children.

Public Trust Chief Executive Bob Smith acknowledged the parallels between the two organisations. "Public Trust is New Zealand's largest and oldest trustee organisation, and Plunket is New Zealand’s largest and oldest provider of well child services. Both have moved with the times and look forward to continuing the tradition of caring for New Zealanders.”

He continued, “Only 30% of young parents have a Will in place, which means 70% do not. Let’s raise awareness of the importance of writing a Will and setting up an Enduring Power of Attorney to protect our children’s futures. It’s in everyone’s best interests.”

Plunket Chief Executive Jenny Prince also recognised the parallels. "We are very pleased to be partnering with another organisation that shares our values of trust, quality of service, inclusiveness and commitment. For us to continue our great work for future generations, we need to be innovative and partner with like-minded organisations. Public Trust is the perfect partner."

Public Trust was founded 141 years ago to protect the future of New Zealanders. Plunket is a comparatively sprightly 107 years old, having been set up in 1907 by Sir Frederic Truby King to 'help the mothers and save the babies'. Both organisations have seen their share of challenges and have a clear focus on the future.
