Changes in PSA leadership
A three-person 'national secretariat' has been appointed to manage and lead New Zealand's biggest union, the PSA.
The appointment - which follows constitutional and organisational changes undertaken by the PSA - sees a new face with the arrival of the present CTU policy co-ordinator, Lynn Middleton.
Others in the secretariat are Paul Cochrane, the PSA's acting general secretary in recent months and the union's Auckland-based manager, Richard Wagstaff.
The jobs were advertised nationally. A panel of PSA executive board members, including the president Kathy Higgins and staff reps made the selection.
'This new team will be developing and putting into practice our "Partnership for Quality" strategy,' Ms Higgins said.
'We welcome the skills and experience Lynn brings to the team and with Paul and Richard we have a very progressive and united team,' she said.
'Partnership is
our policy and approach and is "enshrined" in our new
constitution. It's full speed ahead and we will be
continuing to make progress,' she
said.
