Supercomputer Weather: Kyle Heads For Downtown D.C

Kyle In His Context – Large Image Of Entire Eastern Seaboard

Tropical Storm Kyle appears to be heading directly up the U.S. Eastern Seaboard this weekend and according to the NOAA supercomputer may dump a fair bit of rain over the U.S. Capitol at the weekend – Sunday October 13th NZT.


NOAA National Hurricane Center generated strike chart – the red area shows where Kyle is expected to make landfall in the next few hours.


The latest National Hurricane Center projected path for Kyle. (Note Scoop’s latest NOAA forecast below has the storm headed to the North and West of this path directly over Washington D.C.)

The following images show Kyle’s rainfall over Washington as forecast by the Medium Range Forecast Model of the NOAA weather supercomputer. The forecast maps are at 12 hour intervals and rain is shown in coloured lines.
