Desperately Seeking The ROTK Trailer? Click [HERE]

By Alastair Thompson

Go to Google, type "ROTK Trailer" into the box and click the "I am feeling lucky" button.

Still Feeling Lucky?

When doing the above you ought to have found yourself here.. (Note: this is one of the dumbest of dumb internet tricks (albeit an amusing one) and it will in all likelihood not keep working forever - hence the inclusion of the link on this page, for the benefit of posterity.)

The page you would have arrived at is this one, the source of the material is theonering.neta fellow independent online news provider with which Scoop have had a "content partnership" dating back to 1999. See… THE VERY BEST LOTR SCOOP IMAGES 1999-2003 for the fruits of this relationship.

Yesterday this page received well over 700 views... So clearly people are desperately seeking a glimpse of the Return of the King Trailer…. (see referral logs below for proof of this) This morning a helpful reader Rhapsody wrote to say…. "Re: ROTK trailer: "You can watch part of the trailer of ROTK [HERE] . So thanks for that rhapsody.

But the real point of this story - if there is one, other than simply that you dear reader are indeed lucky today - to have found the trailer you are looking for - is this.

When the ROTK Trailer page stepped into the No. 1 spot in Scoop's daily ratings it displaced a story that had been No. 1 on Scoop since July 9th:

And this, like the Lord of the Rings, is a very special story. Scoop's Scoop, "Bev Harris's " Inside A U.S. Election Vote Counting Program", a story that is undoubtedly Scoop's biggest ever Scoop… and probably most important. This story has had 100,000 views in July alone, entering popularity territory hitherto reserved exclusively for illicit and exclusive Lord Of The Rings set photos.

Indeed the previous champion in Scoop's most viewed stakes was most definitely a series of photographs (that were also published on TheOneRing.net) and around which a fantastic four year editorial relationship has since formed.

Binoy Kampmark: Burned By The Diana Cult: The Fall Of Martin Bashir

The interview was infamous, made his name and was bound to enrage. It also received a viewing audience of 23 million people who heard a saucy tale of adultery, plots in the palace, and stories of physical and mental illness.
